We’re hoping the next few weeks come with lots of sunshine, memory making and giggly moments that can be looked back at with warmth and love. Wondering how to fill the time? That’s where we come in. We’ve got so many lovely ideas, ready to create core memories that your tot will hold on to forever.

So, here’s our favourite mix of magical summer holiday activities for kidsmoments – from fun-filled family days out to home activities made even better (if we do say so ourselves) with our My 1st Years favourites.

Outdoor Summer Activities & About Adventures

When the sun’s shining (or even when it’s not), getting out of the house is sometimes the best way to stimulate little legs and curious minds. The great news? You don’t need to venture far to find the magic.

  • Visit the zoo or a farm – Animal lovers will adore seeing their favourite creatures up close. From moo-vellous cows to majestic lions, there’s nothing like a day spent exploring together. And if you want to dress them up super appropriately, then you have to take a peek at our farm-themed and safari-themed denim jackets, backpacks, pinafore dresses and more. They’re super cute – and every time they put them on after they’re sure to remember this special outing. One of our favourite kids summer activities to enjoy as a family.
  • Soft play days – Rainy days can still be packed with fun and luckily, you’re never too far away from an indoor soft play. These sliding, jumping, ball pit wonderlands give little ones the freedom to roam (and burn off that summer energy!).
  • Nature walks & local playgrounds – Spot bugs, collect leaves or simply wander (or scoot on one of our adorable scooters or personalised ride-ons) together. Dress them in our personalised outfits so they not only look adorable for those busier-than-usual park days – but are also easily identifiable too.

Making Memories at Home

Looking for things to do at home in the summer? The good news is: summer holidays don’t need to cost the earth. Some of the sweetest childhood moments are made right at home and in the garden, with a little imagination and a few simple touches.

  • Sunny garden days – Take the fun outside with water play, sensory setups or messy activities. Our personalised sand & water play table makes a perfect centrepiece for those sun-filled moments. Splash, dig, pour and squish – it’s perfect for sensory development and bringing the giggles to the garden. A great home activity for preschoolers on summer afternoons.
  • Tuff tray painting & messy play – Bring out the paints and let them pick their favourite colours and brush it on like the true artist they are. The joy of tuff trays is you can create lots of magical scenes, from farmyard ones with plastic animals to snowy scenes with shaving foam. Designed to bring sensory joy to their world.

  • Gardening together – There’s magic in planting something and watching it grow. Whether you’re sowing sunflower seeds to have a “whose will grow tallest” competition or building a fairy garden with make-believe doors on trees, our personalised gardening caddy is the perfect sidekick for your green-fingered little one – also helping them feel like a true grown up.
  • Rainy day play –  From shape-sorting to problem-solving, our wooden toys like the activity cube and farmhouse shape sorter offer screen-free play and also helps to support their development. It’s also a perfect indoor summer holiday activity.
  • Fort-building fun – Grab some blankets, pillows and imagination… it’s time for a classic at-home adventure. Let them bring their favourite snuggly companions from our cuddly toy collection to join the fun or set up a little teddy bear picnic in the centre of the living room. Classic summer games for kids like scavenger hunts or “pretend camping” can turn your living room into a holiday adventure.
  • Scrapbooking summer memories – Whether it’s tickets from day trips, instant prints of sunny smiles or the paintings they’ve made along the way, make a scrapbook together to hold onto the magic. A calm and creative summer activity for kids that you'll both treasure.

Summer’s For Slow Days Too

And breathe! Not every day needs to be packed with a full itinerary – sometimes the best days are the slow ones. A picnic in the living room, a film in the middle of the afternoon under a cosy blanket, or simply lying on the grass spotting cloud shapes that swoop over your heads. These are the moments they’ll remember.

So, whatever you do this summer holidays, we hope it’s filled with laughter, sunshine and little moments of magic.
