A baby’s first Christmas is an exciting time for every family where you can create memories and traditions to last a lifetime. How can you make the most of this special season? Read on for some ideas on how to relish this exciting time.
Send a holiday card with a baby or hand/footprint
Where better to begin than with a Christmas card featuring the new baby? This is something that the whole family can enjoy and in our digital age it couldn’t be easier! Simply snap a beautiful image of your little angel, upload it to your selected layout and ta-da, baby card. If you want to create something a little more personal, it couldn’t be easier (and not to mention cheaper) to produce a card with baby’s hand print or footprint. Simply grab some good quality card and paint and dip baby’s hand or foot into it gently. Then print it onto a piece or card and decorate accordingly. You will be left with a festive card and a memento to last a lifetime. Just make sure you check that your baby isn’t sensitive to any of the ingredients and the paint is suitable.
Do we even have to tell you?! Is there anything cuter than a tiny baby dressed in a Christmas costume? You don’t have to stick with traditional red costumes or elf themes (which are still great options) but you can branch out. Think polar bears, penguins, robins and more – the adorable opportunities are endless!
It’s never too early to meet Santa! Every little boy or girl deserves the opportunity to meet the man who will become their festive hero, and their first Christmas is the ideal time to take a trip to the grotto and get some adorable pics!
This is a great opportunity to grab a stocking for your little one, whether it’s a gift for just the year or a gift to keep for Christmases to come it will be a reminder to your little one from early on and it will initiate a sense of festive spirit so every time you bring this out it will remind them that special time of year has arrived again.
Having a new baby is a great time to be altruistic and give back to those less fortunate than yourself. There are many children who are in need of a variety of support, so choose one close to your heart and donate to a charity in the name of your little one. Another option is donating old toys, there are many charities which look to give toys to children who are living on the poverty line and if your little one has outgrown some of their toys or perhaps you have some that they simply do not like, then it is a great time to give to charity before they receive new ones for Christmas.
Get an Ornament
An ornament is a wonderful way to mark the birth of your new-born. Whether you prefer a tree ornament or something to display around the house, there are numerous gifts you can grab and personalise to mark this momentous occasion. Following their first year, you can buy a decoration of their choice every year and eventually they will accumulate enough decorations for their own tree!
Deck the Nursery
While you’re at the halls you may as well get on the nursery as well. What a fun way to celebrate a first Christmas than by decking up their nursery. Think, gold, green and red or simply anything to put a smile on that little face!
