Valentine’s Day is a special occasion for couples to celebrate their love and affection for each other. And adding a baby to the mix means there’s even more love to go around!

Here are some fun ways to make the most of the day of love with your tiniest Valentine by your side.

Make heart-shaped pancakes

Sugar-free pancakes are the perfect Valentine’s Day breakfast for little loves. Pancakes are delicious and nutritious, though make sure to omit any sugar when serving up your little one’s meal.

To add a special romantic touch to your breakfast, use a heart-shaped mould when cooking your pancakes and serve with strawberries. You can also include your baby in the preparation process by having them help you with simple tasks like mixing ingredients.

A cup of tea in bed

Nothing says ‘I love you’ quite like a cup of tea in bed. Wake your partner up on Valentine’s Day morning with a delicious cuppa served in a heart-themed mug. While your tot can’t help you make the cup of tea, you can let them join in on the surprise to show how much they love their mummy or daddy.

Plus, make the moment extra special by brewing their tea or coffee in an adorable mug personalised with your little one’s name.

Have a movie night

Ditch the romantic restaurant in favour of a family-friendly movie night! Choose a romantic comedy, a Disney classic or an animated film to watch together as a family. Pop some popcorn for the adults, prep some baby-friendly snacks for your little one and snuggle up on the couch as a family.

Decorate a Valentine’s card

Get crafty by making a homemade Valentine’s card with your child. All you need is a blank piece of A4 paper or card folded in half, a pen and some paint!

Prepare a palette of paint for your little one to dip their fingers into before dabbing the front of the card to create a masterpiece. Leave to dry, pen a heartfelt message inside and surprise your partner. They’ll love receiving such a thoughtful card on their first Valentine’s day as a parent.

If you’re low on time, opt for a sweet pre-made card instead and add a personal message.

Have a special picnic with red treats

If you’re blessed with a sunny Valentine’s day, enjoy the beautiful weather and each other’s company by taking a leisurely walk in a park. Your baby can enjoy the fresh air and scenery while you spend time together as a family.

Make the day extra special by preparing a Valentine’s-themed picnic for at the end of the walk, with lots of red treats. Think strawberries, red peppers, apples and jam sandwiches!

Write love notes to your baby in the future

Writing love notes to your tot is a sweet and sentimental way to express your affection. This is a lovely way to spend your Valentine’s Day evening with your partner, family or friends. Pop the notes in a jar or keepsake box to revisit each year.
