Happy International Women’s Day to all those awesome Mummies out there!
This year the International Women’s Day campaign is all about #beboldforchange – making a better change for women’s working conditions around the world, and we know that there is no harder or more important job than being a Mum. That is why we have chosen our 5 most inspiring Mums in the celebrity world. These women are really helping us to boss Mum life, careers and banish any guilt we receive as a Mummy.
Inspiring Mum #1 – Adele
Let’s face it who doesn’t love Adele? Whether it’s her relatable personality, her wicked cackle or that incredible voice – everyone loves Adele! And when over a year ago she let her little boy, Angelo, dress up as Elsa from the Disney movie Frozen, we loved her even more! Teaching him that there is absolutely nothing wrong with breaking gender stereotypes, made Adele a hero in our eyes.
Inspiring Mum #2 – Giovanna Fletcher
Giovanna is not just a pretty awesome Mum but a vlogger, author, presenter and many other things too. Showing that you can have so many aspects to your identity and career while still being an amazing Mummy. Giovanna has openly spoken about her battle with comments about her post-baby weight and we loved her come back about being proud of her ‘Mum tum’ saying… ‘ that bump kept my little baby boy safe for 9 whole months’. We can totally relate Gi!
Inspiring Mum #3 – Chrissy Teigen
We’ve always loved model and author, Chrissy Teigan, but when, just two days ago, she opened up about her post-natal depression for Glamour Magazine we realised what an incredible woman she is. She openly penned about the guilt she felt for being sad when she had a perfect daughter and husband and was concerned what the media would say about her admission, but if anything we love Chrissy even more. Sometimes it can feel difficult to relate to celebrities and models when they’re always pictured looking so perfect but Chrissy has opened up a conversation which is so close to many of our hearts.
Inspiring Mum #4 – Holly Willoughby
The queen of Daytime TV has been a hero of ours for some time now. Holly has always worked since having her children whether it’s being a TV presenter on a multitude of programmes or writing books, Holly has always been at the top of her working game and still manages to be a really great Mum. Although her working lifestyle isn’t possible for all of us, we love how well she juggles the working Mum life.
Inspiring Mum #5 – Beyoncé
C’mon you didn’t think we’d be writing an International Women’s Day post without mentioning Queen B, did you? We’re not even sure where to start with ways we find Beyoncé inspirational… So we’ll leave you with our favourite quote of hers … ever!
“You can be a businesswoman, a mother, an artist and a feminist – whatever you want to be – and still be a sexual being! It’s not mutually exclusive.”
If you know an inspiring Mum, remember to nominate her for our Mum of The Year Awards 2017!
